Hello and thank you for taking a moment of your time to read this. My name is Bublik Anatoly. I have created this site for my elder son – Edik, who is 15. I live with my wife, Zubovnik Svetlana, Edik, Danja (3 years old) and Vanja (1 years old) in Kiev, Ukraine. We lived the typical happy family life with no major problems. Every year Sveta took our children for routine medical exams, and, like most children, they were healthy. That changed in November of 2008. Edik had inflamed lymph nodes and we took him to the OHMATDET Polyclinic and to The People’s Institute of Radiation Safety. Doctors at both clinics stated that Edik simply had Lymphadenitis and the “Epstein-Bar” virus and that he would recover nicely. They prescribed antibiotics, and the inflammation decreased, but did not go away completely. Edik’s lymph nodes swelled again around New Year’s Day, so we went back to the doctors. This time, Edik had a sonogram and a blood test, which revealed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Please look at the following website for information on this deadly disease: www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/ALLinchildren. This changed all of our lives in an instant. Edik is battling like a hero. He has twice undergone chemotherapy. He is fatigued, but his spirits remain high. Sveta spends all day at the hospital with Edik. I now take Danja to kindergarten, look for donors or hospitals who can help Edik, go to the drug store, take the little ones to visit their mom and Edik on the weekends, and run the house in addition to my normal job. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have helped me with Danja and Vanja! We all hope and pray that our lives will return to the way they were before this disease struck. Unfortunately, blood and bone marrow samples taken on day 15 and day 33 of block therapy revealed that Edik’s cancer is still virulent – not in remission. The doctors now say that Edik’s condition is resistant to chemotherapy and he needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. My family and I are eternally grateful to you. I am certain that, with your help, Edik will beat this deadly disease! SMS CHAT: |
